The University of Denver is pleased to announce the search for a part-time Visiting Teaching Assistant Professor for the Scrivner Institute of Public Policy within the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. The Korbel School is an interdisciplinary professional school of international studies that prepares students for careers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Our degrees provide students with the knowledge, skills, and networks to design policies, implement programs, and realize outcomes that enhance human capabilities around the world.

Position Summary

The Scrivner Institute seeks to hire a Visiting Teaching Assistant Professor (VTAP) for the 2020-21 academic year. This position is responsible for teaching four public policy courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The University of Denver operates on 10-week quarters. The VTAP hired should plan on a 1-2-1 or equivalent teaching schedule. Areas of teaching expertise include policy analysis, ethics and public policy, cost-benefit analysis, regulation, and the American policy-making process. Deep engagement with students in the curriculum in addition to substantial advising and mentoring, regular office hours, and student professional development is valued greatly.

Required Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in an appropriate field (public policy, public administration, law, political science, economics or other social science field or fields).
  • The equivalent of at least one year of teaching in higher education (3 semester-long courses or 4 quarter-long courses).

Salary Range
