The DU History Department offers history courses to undergraduate students in a variety of different geographical areas and periods, taught by our twelve faculty members. Our classes are writing and reading intensive with rigorous in-class discussions, and opportunities to participate in hands-on historical research, service-learning projects, and internships. Faculty and students appreciate the small class sizes and close relationships they develop. All of our 80-100 history majors are required to engage in a senior capstone project, a 25-30 page paper based on primary source research and integration of secondary source materials. This rigorous endeavor provides students with the opportunity to learn about, and participate in, a focused area of history. The Department of History is strongly committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive educational environment, in keeping with DUs full dedication to these same values.
