Position Summary

This posting serves for a range of positions. Positions can include:

  • Instructor:
    • Learn to Swim
    • Learn to Skate
    • Learn to Gymnastics
  • Coach:
    • Youth Hockey (Jr. Pioneer Hockey)
    • Youth Swimming (Hilltoppers)
    • Gymnastics (Jr. Pioneer Gymnastics)
    • Club Sports Coach
    • Wellness Coach
    • Personal Trainer
    • Masters Swim Coach
  • Lifeguard
  • Service Associate
  • Facility Associate
  • Official/Scorekeeper
  • Skate Guard 

These are non-benefited, full-time and part-time positions not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Required Qualifications

Instructor:

  • American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, or willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Program-specific coaching/instructor certifications (as required by specific programs).

Coach:

  • American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, or willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Sport-specific coaching certifications (as required by specific programs).

Lifeguard:

  • Current Lifeguard Certification, or willingness to obtain lifeguard certification.

Service Associate:

  • American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, or willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

Facility Associate:

  • Able to move about the Ritchie Center while transporting equipment or objects up to 50 pounds
  • American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, or willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

Official/Scorekeeper

  • American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, or willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

Skate Guard 

  • 16 years of age or older
  • Ice skating ability
  • American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, or willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

Work Schedule

Instructors:

    • TOPS: Varies, mostly evenings and weekends
    • Gymnastics coach: evenings and weekends
    • Gymnastics private coach – weekends
    • Youth Hockey Coach – varies, mostly evenings and weekends
    • Club Sports Coach – evenings and weekends
    • Masters Swim Coach – M-F 12pm, T/Th evenings, Sunday mornings
    • Wellness Coach/Personal Trainer: Varies, but mornings and evenings are typical

Service Associate: Varies, facility is open M-Th 6am-10pm, F 6am-9pm, Sa 7am-7pm, Su 7am-9pm

Facility Associate: Varies, facility is open M-Th 6am-10pm, F 6am-9pm, Sa 7am-7pm, Su 7am-9pm

Official/Scorekeeper: Evenings and weekends

Skate Guards: Varies, but mostly weekends

Salary Grade Number
The salary grade numbers are 3-12 depending upon the position.

Hourly Range
The hourly range for these positions are:

Instructor: $18.29-$30.00

Coach: $18.29-$50.00

Lifeguard: $18.29-$21.00

Service Associate: $18.29-$20.00

Facility Associate: $18.29-$20.00

Official/Scorekeeper: $18.29-$19.00

Skate Guard: $18.29-$20.00

Wellness Coach/Personal Trainer: $20.00-$50.00
