The Department invites applications for a non-tenure track full-time Teaching Assistant Professor position for the academic year 2020-2021 beginning September 1, 2020. The individual hired in this position will be responsible for teaching introductory and higher level undergraduate courses, and possibly graduate courses, in the areas of electrical and computer engineering. Duties include six
courses per year plus service. The appointment is initially a one-year contract, renewable up to an additional two years pending satisfactory performance. A second three-year contract may be awarded following a formal performance review. Faculty members are expected to participate in faculty meetings and engage in service activities. Working effectively and collegially with diverse groups of students, faculty, staff, and/or community members is an integral part of the job responsibility. This position is not required to perform research.
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer and Systems Engineering, or related disciplines is required by time of appointment.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses.
- 2 years of previous experience teaching undergraduate courses.
- Experience in teaching fundamental ECE courses (e.g. MATLAB programming, Microprocessors, VLSI, Advanced Digital Design, HDL modeling, Electronics, Digital Signal Processing, Communications).
- Familiarity with ABET.
- Experience with Senior Design Classes (e.g. year-long projects).
