The Department invites applications for a non-tenure track full-time Teaching Assistant or Associate Professor position for the academic year 2021-2022 beginning September 1, 2021. The individual hired in this position will be responsible for teaching introductory and higher-level undergraduate courses, and possibly graduate courses, in the areas of electrical and computer engineering. Duties include six courses per year plus service.
The appointment is initially a one-year contract, renewable up to an additional two years based on satisfactory performance. A second three-year contract may be awarded following a formal performance review.
Faculty members are expected to participate in faculty meetings and engage in service activities. Working effectively and collegially with diverse groups of students, faculty, staff, and/or community members is an integral part of the job responsibility. This position is not required to perform research.
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related disciplines is required by time of appointment.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses.
- For Teaching Assistant Professor, two or more years of previous experience teaching undergraduate courses.
- For Teaching Associate Professor, four or more years teaching experience.
- Experience in teaching two or more of the following topics: Circuits and Laboratory, Integration (Junior Design Course), Senior Design, Digital Design, Electronics, Digital Signal Processing, Signals and Systems, Engineering Electromagnetics.
- Online teaching experience.
- ABET experience.

Salary Grade Number
The salary grade for the position is UC.
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $94,000/annually.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
