Dr. Kathryn Fox is seeking to hire a lab coordinator for the Fox Lab (https://www.foxlabdu.com) at the University of Denver. The main purpose of this position is to provide research and lab management support to Dr. Fox and to assist at a high level in ongoing research projects. This will include recruiting, screening, scheduling, and working with study participants across in person and online research designs, managing datasets, and delegating responsibilities to other lab members. Research projects will involve working with teenagers, young adults, and adults across a range of racial, sexual, and gender identities.
The lab coordinator will also have the opportunity to engage in independent research as part of this role, including analyzing existing data for poster or paper presentations and piloting new studies. The depth or breadth of this involvement will be in accordance with the employee's long-term career goals and abilities. This is a full-time position that comes with DU's full benefits package. The schedule has some flexibility and requires daytime hours and (possibly) periodic evening/weekend availability. This position is for one year, with continuation contingent on continued faculty and/or grant funding, need, and performance.
- Ideal applicants will have prior experience conducting psychological research, including participant recruitment, data collection, and data storage to provide support for these activities and to independently perform them.
- Applicants should be comfortable working across multiple simultaneous projects and competing priorities to effectively complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Additionally, applicants should be interested in helping to lead lab meetings and coordinate responsibilities across lab members.
- Experience working with clinical populations and experience with data analysis are ideal but not required.
- Additional responsibilities include: installing software, setting up hardware, and troubleshooting computer-related issues; gathering, organizing, and maintaining centralized laboratory information including lab websites and wikis; and assisting with IRB, research assistant training, and financial management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent reasoning ability, both in the abstract (e.g., managing multiple goals and responsibilities) and the concrete (e.g., prioritizing multiple simultaneous tasks, managing time independently).
- Readiness to work with others as part of a research team, help fix technological or scheduling issues.
- B.A. or B.S. degree.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Research experience in psychology or a related field.
- B.A. or B.S. degree with major focus in Psychology and/or demonstrated strong interest in clinical and/or social psychology.
- Experience working with clinical populations.
- Interest in one or more of the following: suicide/self-harm, social inequality/discrimination, online and experimental research methods related to clinical psychology.
- Excellent GPA.
- Desire to implement long-lasting organizational systems.
- Some statistical knowledge.
- Experience with SPSS or R.
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The hourly range for the position is $17.85 - $21.50.
