The Center for Rural School Health & Education, housed in the Morgridge College of Education at University of Denver (DU), invites applications for a full-time Program Manager for ECHO-DU. ECHO-DU is a virtual professional learning platform for educators, mental health professionals and other helping professions committed to improving the lives of children and families. It is housed in the Center for Rural School Health & Education (CRSHE). In ECHO, participants meet via Zoom every week or every other week over a period of 2-3 months to learn about the latest and best practices in their field. Participants meet via a Zoom videoconference. Each session lasts approximately 60-90 minutes and is organized into two components: a didactic session in which an expert shares the latest best practices and resources and a field study session in which a participant shares a challenge and/or success story. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, provide ideas to solve the challenge, and share resources. This format promotes engagement, trust, and a shared learning community. ECHO-DU is a replication site of Project ECHO, a lifelong learning and guided practice model shown to improve specialty care in medicine and reduce health disparities. ECHO-DU is among a few sites that extends this online professional learning community approach to areas beyond medicine.

Position Summary

The Program Manager oversees the daily operations of ECHO-DU. This includes supervising, managing and coordinating ECHO-DU staff to ensure the successful launch and completion of each ECHO series. The Program Manager works directly with and/or oversees ECHO-DU staff in working with each ECHO series team. An ECHO series team is typically comprised of a content lead(s) and a logistics person. ECHO-DU provides each team with support to design and implement a successful virtual professional development experience.

Specifically, the Program Manager and ECHO-DU team provides the ECHO series team with:

  • A step-by-step process to develop and implement a high quality, successful ECHO series.
  • Training on how to facilitate and conduct an engaging ECHO session.
  • Assistance with recruiting and registering participants.
  • Technological infrastructure and assistance throughout the development and implementation phases.
  • A dedicated coordinator to assist with logistics in running the ECHO sessions.
  • Development of a shared resource site for ECHO participants.
  • Service as a thought partner in program evaluation.
  • Ongoing communication and troubleshooting with participants.

Essential Functions

  • Assists ECHO-DU Director with grant writing and fundraising activities.
  • Provides day-to-day management, training, and supervision of the ECHO-DU team.
  • Serves as primary liaison between ECHO series team, participants, and the Morgridge College of Education.
  • Works with ECHO series team to ensure the successful development, implementation, and evaluation of all ECHO series.
  • Creates and executes comprehensive project management plan to manage the development, logistics, and delivery of each ECHO-DU series based on ECHO partners needs.
  • Develops and implements processes to ensure a consistent, high quality virtual professional learning experience for participants.
  • Collaborates with contents leads to build high quality curricula and implementation of the ECHO model.
  • Ensures survey and evaluation mechanisms are in place to measure learning outcomes and to collect process evaluation that can be used for continuous quality improvement.
  • Provides post-session follow-up, including debriefing with the facilitator.
  • Ensures collection of new resources from experts, additions to learning management system and personal follow-up communication with specific users.
  • Develops and manages communication activities across all digital platforms, including content for the ECHO-DU website, newsletters, and social networks.
  • Creates, manages, and distributes relevant ECHO-DU public relations and advertisement.
  • Monitors, reports and communicates outcomes both internally and externally as appropriate.
  • Ensures maintenance of applicable records including user lists, user accounts and security, and equipment inventory in ECHO-DU databases.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree in the field of online learning, instructional design or related field.
  • 3 years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and managing virtual/online learning initiatives.
  • Experience in adult learning education.
  • Demonstrated experience in using educational technology in virtual/online education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of project management experience.
  • Experience with program evaluation.
  • Experience with grant writing and fundraising.
  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and strategic planning as it relates to virtual/online learning.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm. Some evenings may be required.

Salary Grade Number
The salary grade for the position is 11.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
