The Daniels College of Business (DCB) of the University of Denver offers a variety of baccalaureate and graduate degree programs including a Bachelor of Science, (DCB currently enrolls undergraduate students in eight majors: Accountancy, Business Analytics, Finance, Hospitality Management, International Business, Management, Marketing, and Real Estate and the Built Environment); Master of Business Administration (Denver MBA), Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA), Professional Master of Business Administration (PMBA), and an online Master of Business Administration (MBA@Denver), Master of Science in Accountancy, Management, Applied Quantitative Finance, Business Analytics, Real Estate and the Built Environment, and Marketing as well as non-degree Executive Education and professional development programs. Daniels is ranked among the top business schools and is the only business school in Colorado to receive rankings and recognition from BusinessWeek, the Financial Times, U.S. News & World Report and Forbes.

The Executive Education unit of the Daniels College of Business is focused on providing market relevant non-degree programs for business executives and other professionals. These programs consist of both customized programs for organizations and public workshops in a variety of business disciplines. This unit provides lifelong learning experiences for working professionals, DU alumni, and serves as a way to increase the connection between the business community and the College.

Position Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for managing all assigned programs and provide support for all programs offered through Executive Education. The role is critical to maintaining existing programs as well as effectively launching new program offerings. As a part of the program management team, the program manager will be responsible for the management and coordination of the logistics for all assigned Executive Education programs, including support of business development, marketing and recruiting efforts, collaboration with faculty on the design of the learning experiences, management of program revenues and expenses, management of the client/participant experience and program evaluation.

Essential Functions

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans for Executive Education.
  • Contribute to the research and creation of new and continuing program and service areas for Executive Education.
  • Contribute to the development and sustainability of the organizational plan to support and scale Executive Education programs.

Business Development

  • Contribute to and support the business development opportunities for identified clients and prospective participants in order to meet annual revenue targets.
  • Manage existing client relationships in order to retain and expand programs.
  • Represent Daniels at community organizations and corporate events to increase program awareness and reputation.
  • Support the development of strategic partnerships.
  • Cross-sell programs by collaborating with other faculty and staff.
  • Support business development and recruiting as directed.

Program Development

  • Support faculty in the preparation of program content and agendas.
  • Support faculty and director in creating new experiential learning opportunities on and off campus.
  • Support the director and faculty in the execution of program objectives by coordinating all logistics, agenda, faculty scheduling, and needed program materials.
  • Facilitate and schedule faculty and client meetings to ensure Exec Ed is meeting all client expectations, timelines and expected outcomes.
  • Support faculty selection, faculty onboarding and scheduling.

Program Management and Evaluation

  • Assists in developing policies and procedures to improve project management and foster excellent customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with faculty and client to ensure program objectives are met by creating and executing program agendas and pre and post program surveys.
  • Maintain excellent client relationships with existing clients and foster continuous business development for program continuation and new program opportunities.
  • Manage the delivery and outcome of programs by overseeing program logistics, facilities and contracts, and developing relationships with outside vendors.
  • Manage learning management systems and coordinate faculty content and system management.
  • Manage all program assessments and certified instructors scheduling.
  • Manage the program budgets, invoicing and tracking in appropriate systems including faculty pay.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and objectives during program delivery to oversee all logistics and support the faculty and clients with all needs.
  • Analyze the outcome of executive education programs and assist in making program corrections as necessary through effective communication with the client and reviewing survey outcomes.

Administration and Operations

  • Assist with sustaining systems for efficient office and program operations.
  • Identify appropriate facilities and resources for programs and establish relationships with critical vendors and suppliers.
  • Conduct hiring of and performance management for student workers.
  • Participates as an effective team member by contributing ideas, encouraging others and supporting team decisions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • 3 years of experience in event planning, project management, or customer-facing roles.
  • General understanding of marketing concepts and experience managing budgets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with a minor or specialization in Business or Organizational Behavior.
  • 2+ years of experience in educational or corporate learning environment.
  • Experience executing on strategic, operational and marketing plans.
  • Experience using Salesforce, Canvas, social media, email marketing tools, and other online applications.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 8.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $50,000-$55,000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
