Ricks Center for Gifted Children at the University of Denver is a Preschool to Grade 8 school serving the needs of gifted children since 1984. Position Summary

We seek an OT to identify students in need of intervention and assessment, assess students, supporting teachers and families in making appropriate accommodations and modifications, and provide referrals as needed for more intensive interventions. This is a part-time, non-benefited position, working approximately 10-15 hours per week.

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

  • Provide preliminary evaluation of students exhibiting sensory/motor needs and identify and document goals for these students, including Section 504 Plans.
  • Support students who have sensory and fine/gross motor concern through the implementation and support of Tier 1 classroom interventions or targeted mild, short term Tier 2 interventions.
  • Work with teachers and parents on accommodations and modifications to meet the sensory/motor needs of students.
  • Attend weekly Student Support Team meetings as well as parent conferences as needed.
  • Refer students for OT services to outside providers as needed for Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • CDE Special Services Provider License - Occupational Therapy

Hourly Range

The hourly range for this position is $35-50.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
