Position Summary

In close collaboration with the Housing Protocol Coordinator, the Assistant Housing Protocol Coordinator (AHPC) will support the implementation of DU’s special housing and student support protocols in response to COVID-19. While not responsible for directly providing all support, they will act as a primary connector of services for all students under DU isolation and quarantine protocols, connecting them to resources supporting their overall health and day-to-day activities. This is a part-time, temporary, hourly position and will require on-campus/in-person work. This position is a 1-year appointment. 

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

Housing Operations/Logistics

  • Under the guidance of the Housing Protocol Coordinator, manage inventory of and access to isolation/quarantine spaces (residence halls, campus apartments, master leases, chapter houses) and supplies, including occupancy tracking, assignment, keys and C-Cure access, check-in, transfers, check-out/release.
  • With Housing, Facilities and Custodial staff, coordinate preparation, maintenance, and cleaning of relevant campus spaces.
  • With Sodexo and the delivery team, coordinate meal ordering and delivery process.
  • Participate in an on-call system to handle urgent logistics.

Student Resources (social, academic, etc)

  • Prepare and provide ongoing communication to students under isolation/quarantine restrictions, including how-to instructions, available resources, and answering questions and addressing issues as they arise.
  • Serve as advocate for affected students through close communication with them, service providers, and campus leadership
  • Along with campus partners, provide consultation with concerned family and friends of students under isolation/quarantine restrictions.

Field Team

  • Support access and check-in process to isolation/quarantine spaces (residence halls, campus apartments master leases, chapter houses, hotels) by meeting and transporting students.
  • Ensure necessary items are ready (examples: keys, check-in materials, room supplies).
  • Carry out deliveries to students, including off-cycle meals and care packages.


  • Maintain confidential database of students under isolation/quarantine restrictions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills including planning, establishing priorities, and multi-tasking.
  • Customer service or similar experience directly handling stakeholder concerns.
  • Ability and comfort to do in-person, on-campus work with COVID positive and exposed individuals wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 3+ years of related experience.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 4:30pm-9pm and Saturday-Sunday, 9am-9pm. Shifts will be split between both AHPCs based on availability. Work may be extended to additional hours during peak response times.

Hourly Rate

The hourly rate for the position is $17.00.
