Position Summary

The Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing many important aspects of grant-funded research projects. The project coordinator will help recruit children and families for the project; schedule home/site visits; conduct home visits and brain scan visits including interviews, assessments, and collecting biological samples & fMRI data; data entry, processing, transcribing and coding of assessments and parent-child interactions; supervise undergraduate research assistants; project-relevant administrative tasks such as maintenance of budgets, lab web page updates, and purchasing and maintaining lab equipment. The project coordinator will work very closely with other project staff and participants, and therefore must have excellent interpersonal skills.

This is a full-time position (i.e., 40 hours per week) that comes with DU’s full benefits package, and the funding for this position is contingent on grant funding.  The schedule is reasonably flexible, and requires daytime hours and some evening/weekend availability.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • English language proficiency
  • Basic Math abilities 
  • Critical thinking skills along with the ability to discuss and solve problems and issues that may arise.
  • Ability to work with young children, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization and administrative skills, detail-orientation, and conscientiousness to include scheduling, data/file management, word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (Excel), copying, phone skills and data entry
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with both participants and professionals
  • Critical thinking skills along with the ability to discuss and solve problems and issues that may arise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with women, infants, children or families
  • Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends to accommodate data collection. Also, having reliable transportation and in order to take part in home/site visits with other research staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Experience working with low-income families, women and/or young children
  • Experience conducting interviews or standard assessments
  • Familiarity with basic statistical analysis & software (SPSS)
  • Child/Infant CPR certification

Working Environment

  1. This position will be housed in a research lab and involve field work.
  2. Walking and sitting for long periods.

Physical Activities

  1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period.
  2. Ability to lift a child up to 35 pounds.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 7.

Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $21.00 - $26.00.
