The Department of Facilities Management and Planning supports the mission of the University of Denver's physical resources to provide a healthy and safe educational environment for the campus community through services of the departments of Capital Projects and Planning, Facilities Management, Parking & Mobility Services, Auxiliaries & Real Estate, and Business & Operations.
Information Technology/Enterprise Application Services (IT/EAS)
Dedicated to quality, innovation, engagement, integrity, and inclusion, Information Technology/Enterprise Application Services (IT/EAS) maintains the highest standards in providing a wide range of software solutions to units throughout the University. IT/EAS maintains software systems that support the University’s core business as well as develops custom applications in partnership with DU departments to enhance services to our community. Our services range from consultation to implementation to continuous support of software solutions. Services include:
- Software implementation, support, development, and adoption
- Secure access to institutional information
- Database development and administration
- Data interfaces
- Document Management
- Workflow solutions
- Business Process analysis and improvements
- Consultation with DU departments on software development or purchase
- Data Warehouse administration, reporting, and data mining
- Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, and Dashboards
- Application configuration and support
- Intranet and Mobile
IT/EAS ensures the current and future software applications are efficient and effective, maintains an appropriate balance between leading-edge activities and core business processes, and provides appropriate information access and data security.
IT/EAS is responsible for all aspects of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Database Management, Data Warehouse administration, Information Analytics (BI), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Learning Management System (LMS), Document Management, and Workflow.
The Business Analyst I reports to the IT/Enterprise Application Services (IT/EAS) department within the central technology division of Information Technology (IT). The Business Analyst is physically located in the Facilities Management & Planning Division and works in close collaboration with the teams in IT/EAS and the Facilities staff.
The Business Analyst is primarily responsible for the configuration and support of multiple applications (e.g. Maintenance Management (WebTMA), Energy Management (EnergyCAP), Workplace Management (FM: Systems), Access Control (PERSONA), Key Management (SimpleK), Building Automation (ICONICS), Parking Management (T2), Package Tracking (QTrak), etc.), business process needs analysis, and data reporting and analysis. This position will interface with Facilities, software vendors, and IT/EAS application developers to maintain and support applications and interfaces. This position will also be responsible for responding to production support issues, coordinating system enhancements and upgrades, writing ad-hoc reports, managing cross-functional projects, and providing day-to-day application support to the Facilities staff.
Perform the following duties under supervision:
- Functional subject matter expert on facilities management systems, including but not limited to Maintenance Management (WebTMA), Energy Management (EnergyCAP), Workplace Management (FM: Systems), Access Control (PERSONA), Key Management (SimpleK), Building Automation (ICONICS), Parking Management (T2), and Package Tracking (QTrak).
- Perform configuration tasks to satisfy requests from end users for enhancements and fixes.
- Work with IT/EAS to coordinate the design, testing, and deployment of system enhancements.
- Provide enterprise-wide application support. Develop recommendations and coordinate issue resolution with IT/EAS and software vendors. Troubleshoot, identify, and track software issues to ensure resolution. Document and communicate problem resolutions.
- Analyze current processes and tools. Make recommendations for development, improvement, or simplification.
- In partnership with Facilities staff, develop appropriate training materials to support end-user training.
- Research, configure, and schedule standardized reports within the applications.
- Create ad-hoc reports, data queries, standard reports, and dashboards to support business needs.
- Responsible for multiple projects or large complex projects with cross-functional teams.
- Technology liaison between Facilities, IT/EAS, and software vendors.
- Coordinate regularly scheduled meetings with Facilities and IT/EAS.
- Partner with Facilities and IT/EAS teams to prioritize projects using IT prioritization rubric.

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a business analyst position
- Entry level to 2 years of experience or coursework specific to business analysis
- Degree in business administration, computer information systems, management information systems, or another related field
- Experience with SQL and reporting software (Cognos, Tableau, etc.)
- Experience managing facilities management applications
- Experience in a higher education working environment

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 10.
The salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
