Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Enrollment at the Graduate School of Social Work reports directly to the Associate Director of Enrollment and Financial Aid and will have first level enrollment duties and responsibilities for main campus, online and Durango Colorado admission and operations functions. Duties will include developing original data analyses and assessment tools related to GSSW strategic enrollment initiatives for all program cohorts. The Assistant Director will be responsible for developing strong relationships with external and internal organizations, GSSW faculty, administrators, students and alumni. In addition, the Assistant Director will develop and implement prospective student pipeline initiatives, recruitment operations and yield events.

Essential Functions

MSW@Denver Online Program enrollment activities and Four Corners Program enrollment activities, including:

  • Team liaison to 2U, GSSW’s online education partner
  • Co-management of overall admission selection and yield initiatives
  • First level application reader and make higher-level recommendations for admission
  • Lead manager for manual transcripts

Main Campus MSW Program Enrollment Activities, including:

  • Co-manage overall recruitment and admission selection and yield activities, read and evaluate applications and make recommendations for admission and financial aid
  • Develop and implement strategies for effective use of digital tools for virtual outreach, recruitment and yield activities and events, including initiative targeting underrepresented populations both in state and out of state.
  • Development and analyze longitudinal empirical data, reports, and surveys to improve conversion rates and collaborate with teammates to develop annual enrollment plan
  • Act as lead manager for: part-time MSW cohorts recruitment and enrollment, information sessions for all on campus program cohorts, oversight of provisional admission offers, virtual and in-person information sessions for all on campus programming.

Slate CRM Data Research, Assessment and Analysis activities, including:

  • Collaboration with other stakeholders on the technical development and enhancement of SLATE
  • Design and utilize analytical and reporting tools for visualization of changes and trends in enrollment data across programs
  • Co-manage data imports and exports across systems and student systems access requests

Other duties as assigned, which may include:

  • Evening and weekend hours as needed during peak times, travel for conferences or recruitment events, collaborative work with other departments related to marketing or technology, professional development, supervision of student employees, delegated authority to oversee daily operations or other administrative functions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals and groups and embrace inclusive excellence principles and values.
  • Excellent oral and written English skills. Ability to professionally and effectively present information in a variety of settings. Ability to read, analyze and interpret enrollment report data and departmental procedures and policies. Ability to write business correspondence.
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Able to make appropriate and independent decisions regarding delegation and coordination of complex tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Demonstrated high levels of analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of enrollment experience in a higher education setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and 3 years of graduate enrollment experience at a highly selective college or university
  • Proficient in Technolutions SLATE and Elucian Banner
  • Excellent understanding of highly selective admission processes and online enrollment systems.

Working Environment

Standard office environment, M-F 8-4:30. Some evening and weekend hours anticipated in peak seasons. Some travel may be required. Some locally remote and flexible scheduling options may be available for this position.

Physical Activities

Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period.
Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs. with assistance.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 9.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $55,000-$58,000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
