Position Summary
University College is seeking a strategic, creative Digital Video Producer to join its marketing team and play a pivotal role in driving growth for online, continuing, and professional education programs. This position leads creation and deployment of all student recruitment, enrollment, and marketing video content for University College. The individual will work with a variety of stakeholders across the College to lead the video production process from concept through final delivery of innovative and impactful media content, including videos, podcasts, and screencast tutorials, that break through the clutter and maximizes audience engagement and action across a variety of platforms, including web, social media, email, and texting.
Ideal candidates will possess a passion for video production, be informed about emerging trends across communication platforms, be an expert in video production, including storyboarding, and video editing, and have strong organizational skill and project management experience to lead and manage multiple projects built for scalability. The role requires a high level of cross-functional collaboration, teamwork, and excellent communication.
Essential Functions
Media and Video Strategy
- In collaboration with key stakeholders (Deans and Directors), develop vision and strategy for media and video across University College’s academic and noncredit program portfolio that reflects the University College/DU brand and drives audience/alumni engagement, student recruitment/enrollment, and marketing outcomes.
- Within media strategy and plans, leverage best practices to identify media asset formats, types, features, content, and development approaches that achieve desired outcomes around quality, timeline, and budget.
- Assess market opportunities, track trends, and execute strategy enhancements in partnership with marketing and program stakeholders
- Analyze performance and market data to inform strategy and decision-making
- Research and monitor peer and competitive strategies to identity trends, creative and innovative strategies, best practices, and target audiences.
- Develop media assets that can be reused, scaled, and optimized across different channels.
- Communicate cohesive, engaging, and energetic brand and user experience for University College programs across content platforms and channels.
Media and Video Development and Production
- Lead and direct media and video production for enrollment, marketing, and noncredit teams.
- Conceptualize, storyboard, direct, shoot and edit compelling video content for all social media platforms (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook), the University College website, email and text platforms that build brand awareness, drive engagement, and increase enrollment.
- Develop and manage a project management calendar for all video projects.
- Source, curate, create and edit all written and visual content for video publishing.
- Source and edit user-generated content from social media.
- Ensure quality control, including accuracy of information, brand alignment, timeline alignment, budget alignment.
- Manage and maintain an on-site library of the College's video assets.
Collaboration, Teamwork, and Business Relationships
- Serve as the primary point of contact with external vendors used to support video production strategy and execution.
- Serve as the primary marketing/enrollment video liaison to internal stakeholders, preparing and presenting assessment reports as needed for leadership.
- Collaborate on special projects and initiatives that have a marketing and/or enrollment video component
- Supervise freelancers and work study employees as related to video production activities.
- Openly receive feedback from team members and clients and find the best ways to address concerns and provide new solutions.
- Anticipate and solve problems that may impact projects, campaigns, and performance.
- Contribute to and foster a positive and joyful team culture, including promoting a culture of yes, and serve as a collaborative partner to University College colleagues and the University of Denver at large.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced level knowledge and production experience in Adobe Creative Suite with an emphasis on Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Audition, and other digital video and audio programs.
- Exceptional communication skills with a variety of diverse audiences, and an ability to coach on-camera talent who are approaching this work for the first time.
- Creative and leadership experience with video and digital storytelling in marketing (especially within the context of integrated marketing campaigns) and ability to adapt techniques to various target audiences and mediums.
- Strong ability in storytelling, storyboarding, and writing and adapting scripts that align with University College’s brand and values of inclusive excellence.
- Ability to incorporate creative and high production quality while maintaining efficiency.
- Ability to deliver pro-active, creative solutions to complex challenges
- Ability to interact effectively with colleagues/clients, including receiving and giving feedback, while maintaining positive relationships and building consensus.
- Strong project management, workflow, and process skills; experience managing complex live projects from pre-production design to post-production deliverables.
- Has a director's eye and can contribute to studio look, feel and design.
- Ability to direct multiple projects while maintaining focus on details and outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in working autonomously and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of best media and video marketing strategies used by continuing education units, institutions of higher education, and corporate organizations
- Strong sense of initiative and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations, and commitment to upholding the values of University College.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, ideally in video production Media Arts, Digital Communication or related field
- 2-3 years-experience in video production and storytelling, including planning, producing, and post-production
- Advanced level knowledge and production experience in Adobe Creative Suite with an emphasis on Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Audition, and other digital video and audio programs.
- Animation and motion graphics skills a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading video production for enrollment and marketing in a professional and continuing education unit/department.
Working Environment
- Standard office environment.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period.
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The salary grade for the position is 9.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $55,000-$62,000.
