The Morgridge College of Education (MCE) at the University of Denver is accepting applications for an Executive Assistant. Position Summary

This Executive Assistant position is responsible for supporting the Dean and two Associate Deans by managing demanding schedules, arranging travel itineraries, overseeing various components of the Dean’s Suite operation, providing administrative support to various committees and working with a great latitude of discretion. This position serves as an initial point of contact for a variety of constituencies and offers a natural liaison to those groups. The person in this position must respond effectively to questions and concerns raised by the central administration, faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends. It will be vital that the person assuming these responsibilities has the ability to vet all forms of correspondence and ensure timely follow­ up by the appropriate member of the leadership team. The Executive Assistant will provide support for all functions for which the Dean of the Morgridge College of Education has responsibility. The person will assist the Dean on various MCE committees by tracking priority issues, managing the development of agenda items, attending meetings, and writing minutes. The Executive Assistant may be called upon to write and produce summaries and reports on various topics for distribution to a broad range of audiences.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee various aspects of the Deans Office operation: scheduling, meeting agendas and minutes, organizational charts, search organization and support, contact lists, birthdays, event planning, office supplies, recognition programs , Zoom knowledge, Qualtrics Surveys, Microsoft Teams, COESA collaboration, donor letters and correspondences, expense reports, travel arrangements, and back-up for the building manager (building access issues and work orders).
  • Manage work-flow in support of Dean, particularly various incoming forms of correspondence (e.g., email, text, documents), to ensure appropriate and timely follow-up.
  • Support the Dean on various MCE and institutional committees and meetings.
  • Support two Associate Deans with various projects as needed.
  • Coordinate multiple schedules and calendars.
  • Work with and maintain confidential personnel information related to tenure and promotion, student records, and donor information.
  • Suggest/track agenda topics, attend meetings, and write/edit minutes.
  • Supervise student employees.
  • Respond effectively and in a timely manner to questions and concerns raised by University leadership and the broad set of MCE constituents either by email, phone, etc.
  • Manage and maintain documents, deadlines, and contracts for faculty searches, appointment, tenure and promotion.
  • Provide research and writing support for the Dean.
  • Manage special projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Ability to multi-task routinely.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of progressively responsible administrative office management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of progressively responsible administrative and office management experience.
  • Previous experience in providing administrative support at the executive level.
  • Experience in higher education

Physical Activities

1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 9.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
