The Learning Effectiveness program was founded in 1982 as an academic support program for University of Denver students with learning disabilities. Our mission is to support learning and neurodiversity by providing students opportunities and resources for personal growth, academic skill building, and connection. Working under the Dean of Student's office in Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence, The Learning Effectiveness Program (LEP) has developed some of the most comprehensive and innovative support services provided at the post-secondary level. Our nationally recognized program serves over 350 students each year. The Learning Effectiveness Program (LEP) at the University of Denver is now hiring tutors for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. We need tutors who have a strong background in college-level Business, Engineering/Computer Science, Humanities, Languages, Mathematics, Science, and Social Sciences from entry-level to advanced level. This position works under the direction of the Tutoring Coordinator and LEP Associate Director. LEP Tutors assist students in building confidence, independence, and academic skills in a one-on-one setting. Tutors are also responsible for providing students with access to resources that will encourage them to achieve academic goals.

LEP Academic Counselor in Denver, CO
An LEP Academic Counselor will primarily provide academic support to students with learning disabilities, ADHD, and other learning differences by meeting with them weekly, assisting with time management, organization, self-advocacy, and connecting them with relevant campus resources; they will also participate in professional development related to working with these student populations, collaborate with faculty to ensure equitable access to learning, and actively engage in program events and initiatives to promote student success. This is a part-time, non-benefitted position focused on supporting students throughout the academic quarter, with responsibilities including maintaining student records, attending relevant conferences, and contributing to program assessment efforts.
