Global Justice Postdoctoral Fellow, Sié Chéou-Kang Center for International Security and Diplomacy, Korbel School of International Studies in Denver, CO
The Sié Chéou-Kang Center for International Security and Diplomacy at the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies is seeking qualified candidates for a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in Global Justice. The Global Justice postdoctoral fellow will support the Inclusive Global Leadership Initiative (IGLI) at the Korbel School by teaching one graduate course per year in the new Global Justice certificate program. This scholar will be in residence at the University of Denver for two full academic years, under the mentorship and supervision of Professor Marie Berry. In addition to teaching 2 courses (total) during their tenure, the Global Justice postdoc will also be invited to engage with other Sié Center and IGLI initiatives including conferences, commentary, and publications. They will also be invited to present their work in the weekly Korbel Research Seminar, where scholars present work-in-progress to PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and other members of the Korbel Community. Further, they will benefit from the support and collegiality of the large Korbel faculty whose feedback and advice will help them shape their own research and advance their career goals. We will accept applications from candidates who have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching on global justice, broadly conceived. The Fellowship will begin September 1, 2023. The fellowship will extend for a two-year term, with the individual’s time spent in residence at the Sié Center at the University of Denver.

The Josef Korbel School seeks an energetic and experienced Assistant Director to manage the Bridging the Gap project components funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and housed at the Korbel School. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in day-to-day project direction, experience in grant management and funder relations, knowledge and education in a disciplinary field related to international affairs, and excellent written and oral communication skills. They will also be task-oriented and detail-conscious while able to appropriately prioritize and balance a complex overall workload. The position is central to the Korbel School’s ability to execute a major grant-funded initiative to advance engaged scholarship on a range of policy issues. Founded in 2005, Bridging the Gap (BTG) is a multi-university, foundation-funded initiative dedicated to supporting and promoting policy-relevant research and connections between scholars and policymakers in international affairs. As of January 2023, BTG’s flagship grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York (a three-year budget, from January 2023–December 2025, of approximately $1.3 million) will be administered by the University of Denver’s (DU) Josef Korbel School of International Studies.

The Josef Korbel School seeks a motivated and experienced half-time administrative assistant to support Bridging the Gap (BTG) in the programming and operations associated with its grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, housed at the Korbel School. The Administrative Assistant will report to and collaborate closely with the BTG Assistant Director and also work closely with BTG’s faculty director at the Korbel School to ensure the operational and logistical needs of BTG are met.
