Position Summary

The Assistant Director, Kennedy Mountain Campus, Wellness & Recreation (KMCWR) Digital Marketing & Communications reports to the Director, KMCWR Business & Operations and plays a vital role in developing the KMCWR digital presence by utilizing analytics; optimizing our web platforms for engagement, fundraising, and sales; and shaping the division’s overall digital growth strategy.

The Assistant Director is responsible for the performance of the KMCWR digital presence that includes, but is not limited to: Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports & Wellness and James C. Kennedy Mountain Campus website content and engagement; development and timely delivery of digital collateral, including brochures, proposals, newsletters, annual reports, mailings, advertisements, event programs and other promotional material to maximize reach and engagement; develop and create visually appealing and engaging content for KMCWR social media platforms.

This role requires a strong grasp of digital marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), social media management (SMM), content management, and analytics. The Assistant Director will work closely with KMCWR cross-functional teams to provide exceptional customer experiences, detail-oriented digital experience management, and oversight of the KMCWR online presence ensuring that the student and customer journey leads to engagement with KMCWR events, programs, and services.

Essential Functions

Customer Experience

  • Manage SEO and SMM campaigns for key target markets and audiences
  • Utilize data and analytics to develop actionable recommendations for a story format, engaging prospects and customers to enhance their comprehension of value of KMCWR events, programs, and services

Campaign Execution

  • Lead the end-to-end process from key target market onboarding to campaign provisioning and performance evaluation
  • Skillfully navigate multiple divisional and university technology systems

Digital Strategy Development & Performance Management:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive digital presence strategies congruent with KMCWR and University branding and marketing objectives
  • Identify target audiences and tailor digital efforts to effectively engage and resonate with them

Search Engine Optimization Management

  • Develop and supervise the creation of diverse content types, including blog posts, articles, videos, and infographics
  • Analyze the current share of voice (SoV) in the wellness and recreation industry and design a strategic plan to increase visibility and engagement in this space.

Social Media Management:

  • Collaborate with the digital team to oversee social media platforms, encompassing content creation, scheduling, monitoring and engagement
  • Formulate and curate a captivating content strategy aligned with the KMCWRs voice, values, and objectives

Personnel

  • Hire and coordinate a student and hourly team to support digital content development for the KMCWR division.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications or a related field.
  • Proven experience in website design and online content management.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, including social media, content marketing, and email marketing.
  • One (1) year of management/supervisory experience.

Working Environment

  • The position is based in an office setting, with frequent computer use.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  In accordance with the University’s flexible work policy, this position is eligible to be considered for partial remote work. Further details regarding this plan will be determined with the hiring manager and are dependent on the division and team specific needs.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 10.

Salary Range:
The salary rate for this position is $65,000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
