Position Summary
The Center for Orthopaedic Biomechanics is hiring multiple post-docs and graduate assistants to join a dynamic group working on funded projects including in-vivo joint mechanics, sports performance, computational modeling, implant testing, and wearable sensors. This is an amazing opportunity to work closely with a faculty mentor who conducts cutting-edge research and has a strong record of funding and publication while developing your skills to become a successful independent investigator.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and with teams of graduate students and faculty.
- Interest in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- PhD degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, biomechanics, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience conducting orthopaedic or human movement research using in vivo, in vitro, or in silico techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Grant-writing experience.
- Finite element analysis using commercial FEA codes.
- Multi-body dynamics simulations.
- AI/machine learning experience.
- Dynamic radiography and image post-processing.
Working Environment
1. Standard office environment.
2. Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
3. Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities
1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number
The salary grade for the position is GE8.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $60,000-$65,000.
