The Tutoring Coordinator oversees the tutoring services of the Learning Effectiveness Program including recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising 50 to 100 tutors at any given time. The Tutoring Coordinator determines the needs of the students and markets to recruit subject specific tutors based on these needs. The Tutoring Coordinator onboards tutoring staff and provides training required for the College Reading and Learning Associate (CRLA) certification and assures that CRLA training is provided to tutors on an on-going basis. The coordinator approves and processes all tutor time sheets, as well as monitors tutors recorded time to ensure payroll accuracy. The Tutoring Coordinator sets expectations and policies for tutoring services and communicates these to the tutors as well as LEP students and LEP staff. The Tutoring Coordinator collaborates with students and tutors to resolve communication issues and tutoring conflicts, clarify program expectations, and answer general questions regarding tutoring services. The tutoring coordinator monitors the program for academic integrity violations. The Tutoring Coordinator attends professional development opportunities, LEP and other required staff meetings, coordinates tutor appreciation events, and represents the LEP tutoring program at conferences and events. This is a full time benefited position and reports to the Associate Director.

In particular, the Director provides leadership for DU’s compliance with the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act and facilitates coordinated sexual assault and relationship violence prevention efforts with campus entities responsible for compliance with Title IX, the Clery Act, and the Violence Against Women Act. This position takes leadership in University wide prevention efforts across all public health domains including but not limited to: AOD, Suicide prevention, sexual health, and gender violence prevention. The Director develops strategic plans, implements initiatives, and evaluates the effectiveness of those efforts. They develop campus collaborations to achieve programmatic goals. The Director supervises Health Promotion staff, graduate fellows, and student employees. They also oversees the DU peer health education internship programs, recruits and trains students, and evaluates the impact of the programs. They write grants and manage endowments related to this office. He or she serves on the leadership team of the Health and Counseling Center and collaborates with other HCC departments and programs to provide coordinated health promotion initiatives on campus. This position takes a leadership role in the ACHA / NCHA DU survey. The Director displays a commitment to Inclusive Excellence and incorporates multicultural competence into program planning and development. The director will play a key role in locating health promotion in the University’s signature 4-D student program.
