Position Summary

The Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver is looking to hire an adjunct instructor for the Fall 2022 quarter for 5-week course (September 10 through October 14, 2022) for the Denver MBA program.  To be held twice a week Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday for 2 hours, preferably between 8am and 4pm, but flexibility may be considered for right candidate.

The course description for MBA 4170 – Business and Politics reads:

Businesses, both domestic and multinational, are vital actors in a complex global political economy. This class will explore how broader political and economic institutions affect businesses and markets, but also, how the choices of firms in turn affect our global economy. This class will provide students with a deeper understanding of international political economy, international and domestic institutions, the role of businesses in global markets, and the challenges that businesses face in current and recent political climates. We will explore this by discussing the role of businesses in shaping political and economic policies, differences between developed and emerging economies, and how global crises and problems impact the choices of firms.     

Essential Functions

Teaching adjunct faculty are required to teach as determined by the course schedule, hold office hours, assign papers and exams as appropriate and be available to assist students with assignments.

Details of all teaching and non-teaching responsibilities will be provided by the MBA Programs at time of hire agreement. The hire agreement may include the requirement to be able to teach in a hyflex environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree, J.D, or 10+ years of executive experience, depending on department requirements.
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Ability to teach at the university level.

Course Rate

Teaching adjunct faculty are compensated at a rate of $1,090.00 per credit hour.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
