Located where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains, the University of Denver embodies the spirit of exploration and discovery that defines our region and our history. DU is a private institution built on exploration through research and collaboration among educators, students, and local and global communities. With nationally recognized academic programs, a history of widespread influence, a forward-looking vision for a 21st-century education, and a deep commitment to promoting inclusion, we open a world of opportunity and empower our students to make a difference around the world. Through learning, scholarship and practice, students gain the experience, knowledge and courage they need to tackle big challenges in the real world and guide diverse communities and organizations.

Denver, the Mile High City, consistently ranks as one of the best places to live in the United States. Denver’s economy is rapidly growing and diversifying, with strengths in the aerospace, healthcare, financial tech, telecommunications, IT, security, and software sectors. Our region features a dry climate with 300 days of sunshine annually and surprisingly mild winters. The nearby Rocky Mountains provide beautiful views and abundant recreational opportunities year-round. The city of Denver is home to several major league sports teams, diverse neighborhoods, and strong cultural and food scenes.

DUs vision is to be “a great private university dedicated to the public good.” As such, we recognize that our success is dependent on how well we engage and include the rich diversity of our constituents. DU is the oldest and largest private, independent university in the Rocky Mountain Region. Our undergraduate students complete a rigorous, comprehensive core curriculum in addition to a deep, hands-on immersion in their technical curricula. DU is an R1 research university with high research activity and has an exceptional commitment to its undergraduate students. The Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science (Ritchie School) houses three departments and offers six undergraduate degrees, along with several graduate programs. Our small classes, engaged faculty, and atmosphere of experimentation and collaboration offer our students a multi-dimensional education that prepares them to excel and innovate in science and technology. The Ritchie School is also home to Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging (KIHA), which is an interdisciplinary initiative using science, engineering, and technology to help early detection and treatment of "aging and age-related conditions”.
