Position Summary
The Morgridge College of Education is looking to hire adjunct instructors for the 2024-2025 academic year to teach a variety of graduate courses in the Teaching and Learning Sciences department, Early Childhood Special Education. Courses may vary. More information about the courses can be found on the Registrar’s Office schedule of classes at https://www.du.edu/registrar/course/scheduleofclasses.html.
This posting will serve for multiple openings throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.
Essential Functions
- Teach graduate level courses
- Collaborate with faculty course lead to adapt and deliver course;
- Create and maintain course Canvas container;
- Meet with students as needed
- Respond to student communication in timely manner;
- Assign papers, exams and other deliverables as appropriate;
- Grade in a timely manner
- Maintain regular communication with the faculty lead, particularly if a student related issue arises
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in early childhood special education or related field
- Teaching experience in early childhood OR special education OR Higher education
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in early childhood special education or related field
- Teaching experience in early childhood, special education and Higher education
- Experience with inclusive pedagogy and commitment to diversity
- Experience using technology to facilitate adult learning
Work Schedule
While the University's administrative offices are open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).

Course Rate
The course rate is $1,193 per credit hour taught.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, available market information, and course enrollment but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
