The Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver is an interdisciplinary professional school of international studies that prepares students for careers in the public, private and non-profit sectors. The School offers seven masters degrees and two undergraduate degrees and houses several research centers and institutes. Position Summary

The Associate Director of Marketing & Communications will write, edit, design, and distribute communications and marketing materials relating to the Korbel School targeted at prospective students, alums, institutional partners, and other stakeholders. The Associate Director will also manage a full range of social media formats and platforms, conveying the significance of the Korbel School's programming to prospective students and the accomplishments of the School's faculty and students to both internal and external audiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating the Korbel website.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Enrollment, Marketing and Communications on developing and executing recruitment-based marketing campaigns
  • Manages the relationship between any advertising agencies, consultants and freelancers
  • Communicate and market Korbel events
  • Develop and execute a social media plan and objectives designed to enhance the School's visibility
  • Act as the primary lead on creating captivating stories, features, and shorter pieces for the School's website and social media platforms
  • Design and deliver a comprehensive internal communications strategy that provides Korbel constituents with a clear understanding of progress toward goals
  • Oversee and manage the School website, using the site to achieve strategic marketing and communication goals.
  • Oversee branding efforts for the School and its adherence to DUs marketing and communications guidelines, including the usage and development of logos
  • Manage a full FTE and student staff

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including grammatical, editing, and proofreading abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to build consensus, prioritize and work well with a variety of personalities and with different constituencies
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to strategize and maximize efficiency with limited staff and resources

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 5 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, and media relations
  • Experience in the design, development, and implementation of communications, media, and marketing strategies
  • Project management experience with sophisticated marketing and communications campaigns
  • Experience with online content management
  • Experience with digital communications and marketing
  • Experience with ad placement and analytics
  • Experience working with media outlets and developing relationships with third parties
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Advanced skills in Drupal and WordPress CMS platform
  • Experience working with GA4 and Google Analytics
  • Experience creating and executing a successful strategic communications effort
  • Communications/marketing experience in higher education

Working Environment

1. Standard office environment.
2. Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
3. Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Occasional weekends and evenings

Salary Grade Number:

The salary grade for the position is 11.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $78,000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
