The office manages recruitment activities, application processing, application review, and scholarship coordination from inquiry through enrollment, in close collaboration with the University of Denver Office of Graduate Enrollment and other central partners. In addition, the office works in partnership with the DU Office of Undergraduate Admissions to recruit and yield undergraduate students to Korbel majors and minors. This includes shared responsibility for recruitment events, outreach activities, and student engagement during peak undergraduate recruitment periods. The Korbel Marketing and Communications unit supports both graduate and undergraduate enrollment needs and is responsible for all paid, earned, and organic content across web and social platforms. The team also leads internal communications for the Korbel School. Position Summary The Creative Content Specialist produces strategic written, visual, and video content that supports undergraduate and graduate recruitment, storytelling, and brand visibility across digital platforms. Essential Functions Creates, edits, and publishes written, visual, and video content for web, email, and social platforms in support of undergraduate and graduate recruitment and broader communications goals. Writes original content and adapts existing content to meet the needs of different audiences, platforms, and stages of the recruitment funnel. Maintains, updates, and optimizes website content in accordance with content governance standards, accessibility guidelines, and recruitment priorities. Manages the content request and ticketing system, including intake, prioritization, tracking, and coordination of deliverables across stakeholders. Supports content calendars, campaign planning, and recruitment initiatives, ensuring deadlines, dependencies, and approvals are managed effectively. Applies basic project management practices to coordinate content development from concept through publication, including collaboration with designers, marketers, and admissions staff. Uses performance data and analytics to inform content creation decisions, including identifying high performing content to repeat, adapt, or expand across channels. Provides event coverage and content capture, including evenings and weekends as required, to support recruitment, storytelling, and brand visibility. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated skill in creating and editing content across multiple platforms, including written, visual, and video formats. Ability to translate complex academic and institutional information into clear, engaging, and audience appropriate content. Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple content requests, timelines, and priorities simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to assess content performance using analytics and reporting tools and apply insights to improve effectiveness and return on investment. Ability to interpret data to inform decisions about what content should be created, repeated, adapted, or retired across platforms. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, consistency, and accuracy in all published content. Ability to collaborate effectively across functions, including marketing, admissions, faculty, and academic partners. Awareness of emerging digital platforms, content trends, and evolving audience behaviors, with the ability to apply that knowledge strategically. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience. 0-1 year of experience in content creation, digital media, or communications. Ability to think creatively, provide constructive feedback and adapt to changing channel environments. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required. Ability to complete projects independently and on deadline. Preferred Qualifications Video editing experience, including the ability to conceptualize, produce, and refine video content for digital and social platforms. Experience creating content for recruitment, sales, hospitality, or higher education audiences, with an understanding of how storytelling and messaging influence audience behavior and decision making. Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new content formats, platforms, and creative approaches, including testing, iterating, and adapting content based on performance. Experience working within content management systems and social media platforms, with the ability to tailor content strategically to the strengths and norms of each channel. Strong creative instincts paired with an analytical mindset, including the ability to learn from performance data and evolve content strategy accordingly. Self-starter mindset with the ability to generate ideas independently, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute original concepts that advance recruitment and brand goals. Working Environment Standard office environment. Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high. Noise level is quiet to moderate. Physical Activities Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus. Salary Grade Number:The salary grade for the position is 9.Salary Range:The salary range for this position is $58,000-$65,000. The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
