Position Summary The Marsico Institute for Early Learning seeks a Project Assistant to support communications, digital content management, and project assistance across research and project initiatives. This role assists with maintaining internal content management systems, organizing digital media assets, and supporting the development and dissemination of research-based educational materials. The Project Assistant will work closely with research staff and project teams to ensure that content, media, and communications materials effectively support the Institute’s research dissemination and engagement with educators, families, and community partners. These are non-benefited, part-time positions not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year. Employment is grant-funded, with continuation contingent upon available funding and performance. Essential Functions Digital Content Management Maintain and organize digital content across internal platforms including SharePoint, Kaltura, and Canva. Manage video, image, and media files to ensure accessibility, consistency, and organized storage. Support project teams by maintaining digital archives of educational materials, training resources, and project documentation. Educational Content Support Assist with editing educational and training materials to ensure clarity and accessibility for audiences including parents, educators, and young learners. Support the preparation and formatting of materials used for professional development, training, and research dissemination. Communications and Outreach Assist with website updates and social media content to support the Marsico Institute’s digital communications and outreach efforts. Collaborate with project teams to ensure communications materials reflect current research activities and initiatives. Multimedia and Design Support Capture and curate photographs to support educational materials and project communications. Provide graphic design support for presentations, reports, training materials, and outreach resources. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of digital communications and the ability to share information clearly and effectively with different audiences. Ability to simplify and present information in a clear, easy-to-understand way for educators and families. Strong attention to detail and ability to review materials for accuracy and consistency. Ability to work collaboratively with team members and support multiple projects. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tasks and priorities in a timely manner. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in communications, education, media production, graphic design, or a related field. One (1) year of related professional or project-based experience supporting communications, digital media, or content management. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an academic, nonprofit, or research environment. Familiarity with content management systems such as SharePoint or similar platforms. Experience using design and media tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar programs. Experience supporting website updates and social media content management. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage digital assets and project materials across multiple platforms. Work Schedule Varies, Monday – Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Part-time, up to 1,000 hours per calendar year. Working Environment Standard office and classroom environment. Unexpected interruptions occur often; stress level is moderate. Noise level is quiet to moderate. Physical Activities Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs. Hourly Range:The hourly range for the position is $26.00 - $30.00. The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
