Position Summary

The Josef Korbel School seeks an Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the period of July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2028. Responsibilities include:

  • Advise the Dean on all matters related to academic affairs
  • Oversee the development and execution of the curriculum of all degree and certificate programs at the Korbel School in conjunction/coordination with the degree and certificate directors
  • Evaluate current degree, certificate and other academic programs in coordination with the Curriculum and Program Committee
  • Manage and execute the academic scheduling process for the Korbel School, to include the identification and recruitment of adjunct faculty to fill future curriculum needs
  • Manage and execute program assessment for all Korbel programs as required by the University in conjunction with degree and certificate directors
  • Work with students, faculty, and staff to resolve issues related to academic programs
  • Represent Korbel at the University of Denver Graduate Council
  • Serve ex-officio on relevant Korbel councils

  • Appointed faculty of the Korbel School

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.

Work Schedule

While the University's administrative offices are open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).

Salary Grade Number

The salary grade for the position is UC.

Compensation

Stipend of $20,000 each year of the appointment and a 50% course per year release. 

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
