Department Summary

The Morgridge Office of Enrollment and Marketing (MOEM) manages MCE’s admissions, communications, and marketing.

Position Summary

The Digital Marketing Specialist will support the Morgridge College of Education’s marketing and communications team on a temporary basis. This short-term role is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented professional with experience in digital marketing, content creation, and web management. The specialist will contribute to ongoing projects by maintaining digital platforms, supporting content updates, and assisting with marketing campaigns promoting college programs and events. 

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year. This is a temporary position with an anticipated end date of August 28th, 2025.

Essential Functions

  • Design and update marketing materials for digital and print platforms (e.g., flyers, social media graphics, digital signage).
  • Assist with planning and posting content across MCE’s social media channels.
  • Draft and send digital communications, including email campaigns and event announcements.
  • Support maintenance of the college website through DU’s content management system (CMS).
  • Create short-form written content, including social captions, news blurbs, and press releases.
  • Contribute to the promotion of academic programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Compile and review digital metrics related to email, web, and social media performance.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Marketing & Communications to complete time-sensitive projects and maintain brand consistency.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., social media management tools, email platforms, CMS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple short-term priorities.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tools or processes as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain punctuality
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, including international team members.

Supervision & Training

  • The digital marketing specialist will report to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to write and edit digital content
  • Familiarity with social media platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with digital marketing tools such as email platforms, social media schedulers, and analytics dashboards
  • Familiarity with content management systems and basic web editing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) or Canva
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Dependable, collaborative, and able to manage multiple short-term priorities effectively

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

 Physical Activities

  1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period.
  2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule

  •  Normal working hours, Monday through Friday.

Hourly Range

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00-$28.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates’ sex or any other protected status.
