Position Summary

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

  • Lead Learn to Swim private & group lessons for participants ages 3 through adult.
  • Help develop water safety awareness amongst program participants & parents. 
  • Assist in the progressive development of swimmers based on their individual goals.
  • Recognize and respond effectively and efficiently to emergencies.
  • Respond to participant questions and comments.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all Ritchie Center guests.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of programs taking place in the pool area.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 year of age.
  • Current/previous American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification (classes offered through the Ritchie Center throughout the year).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous swim instructor experience.
  • High School diploma & some college experience.
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard or WSI Certification.

Work Schedule

Flexible shifts available from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., including weekends and holidays.

Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $19.00 - $21.00.
