The Daniels College of Business (DCB) offers a variety of baccalaureate, graduate, PhD and certificate programs which are detailed at https://daniels.du.edu/ Position Summary The Associate Director, Daniels Student Success Center Advising Operations and Academic Planning leads the operational infrastructure that supports student progression, academic planning, course management, and degree completion across undergraduate and graduate populations. This role provides oversight for enrollment trend analysis, course demand tracking, managing and building student records processes, degree audit functions, scheduling coordination, data reporting, and administrative workflows that support the Daniels College of Business Student Success Center. The Associate Director serves as a key operational partner and representative of Daniels College of Business to academic departments, faculty, the Registrar’s Office, Office of Graduate Education, Alumni Engagement, and other campus partners. This position ensures that student and course management processes are accurate, efficient, student-centered, and aligned with institutional priorities around retention, persistence, time to graduation, and academic delivery. To stay aligned with the student experience, this position maintains a minimal academic advising caseload of undergraduate and/or graduate students. This position is housed in the Daniels College of Business Student Success Center, which serves as an integrated hub for academic advising, student engagement, career readiness, experiential learning, and student support. The Associate Director also supervises the Student Success Center Scheduling Manager and the Microsoft Office Suite Program Coordinator and provides leadership around departmental student portfolio-related systems, reporting, and process improvement. Essential Functions Academic Planning, Enrollment, and Course Management • Track course enrollment demand to ensure Daniels offers the appropriate number of business core sections each quarter.• Analyze course needs across undergraduate and graduate populations to support efficient scheduling and student progression.• Partner with the Senior Director of Advising and Engagement, the Daniels Student Success Center Scheduling Manager, faculty, and academic departments to ensure quarterly schedules are accurate and responsive to student need.• Partner and supervise the Microsoft Office Suite Coordinator, to deliver curriculum requirements associated to the business core classes. • Monitor enrollment trends and course availability to inform operational planning and academic delivery.• Support data-informed decision-making related to course demand, scheduling needs, retention, and student progression.• Assist the Senior Director and departments on degree and curriculum changes, including updates, approvals, and Bulletin submissions. Student Records, Degree Audit, and Graduation Processes • Audit student degree progress and degree completion requirements.• Conduct preliminary graduation reviews and certify degrees for EMBA students and graduate populations.• Coordinate the certification of graduate degree completion. • Ensure courses are correctly applied in student degree audits for financial aid, VA benefits, and graduation clearance.• Support registration processes, such as assisting with the add/drop process, including registration permits and overrides from units.• Update student records in Banner as needed including graduation applications, concentrations, cohort codes, etc. • Serve as a resource for student status data related to rankings surveys, career services, alumni requests, persistence tracking, and institutional reporting. Reporting, Data Analysis, and Student Progression • Generate, analyze, and distribute key reports that support advising, retention, and academic operations.• Collect, analyze, and disseminate year-over-year retention data to support targeted outreach to students in need of additional advising or intervention.• Track quarterly student registrations for the purpose of enrollment management.• Generate quarterly Academic Deficiency reports and share them with advisors for outreach.• Oversee quarterly reporting for Academic Hood and degree certifications for graduate students.• Support alumni engagement data requests and initiatives in partnership with the Office of Communications and Marketing and the Director of Alumni Engagement.• Maintain and develop databases using tools such as Excel and Airtable. Dual Degree Oversight • Oversee and monitor student progress through formal dual degree and dual undergraduate-graduate degree programs.• Ensure accurate tracking of student progress and processing of required forms.• Manage approvals, updates, and related curriculum or Bulletin changes for dual degree programs. Quarterly Graduation and Academic Hood and Beta Gamma Sigma Ceremonies • Generate and verify student lists with departments for Quarterly Academic Hood and Beta Gamma Sigma. • Work with academic departments to identify and communicate with student speakers for Academic Hood ceremonies.• Determine the list of qualified students each quarter based on GPA eligibility and submit to Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter portal.• Gather and distribute certificates, pins, and honor cords. Operations, Systems, and Supervision • Lead advising-related systems, administrative workflows, and student/course management processes.• Oversee scheduling coordination and related administrative infrastructure.• Respond to course scheduling issues, questions, and process needs.• Supervise the Student Success Center Scheduling Manager and the MOS Coordinator. • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.• Partner with advising leadership to align course availability, reporting, and student support processes with student needs.• Manage the review and approval process for non-degree student course requests and applications through Slate, ensuring selected courses are appropriate and obtaining faculty approvals as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to work independently under general direction.• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment.• Ability to lead project teams and support individuals in reaching shared objectives.• Strong understanding of advising-intensive, student-centered, and co-curricular program operations.• Ability to develop, maintain, and analyze large databases using Excel, Airtable, and related tools.• Ability to generate and analyze enrollment reports and interpret student records.• Ability to synthesize data and support strategic planning around enrollment, scheduling, retention, and growth areas.• Strong organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.• Ability to quickly read, understand, and correct student degree audits.• Ability to identify student and departmental needs and customize responses accordingly.• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally.• Ability to manage multiple functions and projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality or accuracy. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree.• Experience in academic operations, registrar functions, scheduling, advising systems, student records, or program administration.• Experience managing and building databases.• Strong analytical, organizational, and process management skills.• Experience using Excel, Airtable, Banner, Slate, or similar student information and database systems preferred.• Program management certification preferred.• Master’s degree preferred in Higher Education, Business, or a related field. Working Environment • Standard office environment.• Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.• Noise level is quiet to moderate. Physical Activities • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.• Occasionally required to move about the office/campus. Work ScheduleMonday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Evenings and weekends as needed. Salary Grade Number:The salary grade for the position is 10.Salary Range:The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $75,000. The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting.
