Position Summary

The Corporate and Community Relations Manager works collaboratively part of the RISE (Recruitment, Innovation, Student Success, and Excellence team), a new team that supports three professional master’s programs in Cybersecurity, Data Science & AI, and Systems Engineering. This position works to engage the marketplace with the Ritchie School locally, nationally, and globally through recruiting opportunities, student projects, events, guest speaking, and corporate giving opportunities.

This dynamic and integrative role acts as a liaison between Ritchie and other units throughout the University to identify meaningful engagement opportunities for our partners and to showcase and promote recruiting opportunities for targeted groups of students. The Manager of Community & Corporate Relations is responsible for engagement and stewardship of Ritchie School recruiting partners, Corporate Partners, and key industry/community partners. We seek talented, team-oriented, and collaborative individuals who possess self-confidence and an ability to be highly credible when representing the Ritchie School.

This position reports to the Director of Professional Programs.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain effective internal relationships with faculty, staff, and students to identify and/or establish meaningful engagement and/or sponsorship opportunities for external stakeholders, including student project opportunities, guest speaking opportunities, industry panels, board positions, and other alumni/corporate engagement opportunities.
  • Oversee corporate engagement strategy, outreach, stewardship, and data integrity.
  • Collaborates with career coaches and advisors and cross-functionally with other staff directors and teams across the campus to develop and deploy innovative and high-quality career and networking opportunities for professional students.
  • Ensures that Corporate and Community Relations events are well-planned, well-organized, well-attended, and well-executed to ensure success for all vested stakeholders.
  • In partnership with Ritchie School Marketing, identifies opportunities to promote and highlight key corporate and employer relationships and engagements.
  • Develop & oversee employer recruiting relationships.
  • Utilize software such as 12Twenty and Salesforce CRM for employer relationship coordination with central career services.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in business including new business development and/or corporate/employer relations.
  • Experience and interest in working with different cultural backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent and able to conduct business in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing/sales, a corporate foundation or college relations department of a major corporation, or a corporate relations position.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • 4-6 years general business or university relations experience.

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule

We are looking for candidates interested in working 20-30 hours a week. Typical work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Flexible work schedule including allowing for two days of remote work per week is allowed with approval and compliance with University policy.

Salary Grade Number

The salary grade for the position is 8.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $28.80 - $32.18.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
